Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Project Director, the CM Lead is responsible for creating and implementing change management plans and related communication materials, in support of project-related change and ongoing organizational improvement. The CM Lead will facilitate people and process changes throughout the organization, and will work primarily with project management and senior leadership at Western to define a higher standard in change planning and communications. The focus of these initiatives will be internal customers but may extend to some external customer or vendor engagement. Success in this role will be measured by the faster adoption of change, greater utilization and buy-in on changed processes and systems, and minimizing business disruption through the change process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct change impact assessments and readiness assessments by stakeholder group, evaluate results and present findings in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Develop and execute actionable organizational change management plans to ensure a smooth adoption of future state, with minimal disruption to the business
  • Develop communication and training strategies and plans to enable people and facilitate our transition to simple, standard and streamlined processes
  • Foster the development of a stronger culture of change through engaging senior leaders, managers, supervisors and others to help them fulfill their roles as change sponsors and support their guiding direct reports to future state
  • Work with Communication, Human Resources and other specialists in the formulation of plans and activities to support change initiatives
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and workshops to support change management and build buy-in
  • Liaise with leadership, the business and, where applicable, project resources to understand stakeholder perceptions and work with them to overcome any resistance
  • Integrate change management, communication and training strategies with project timelines
  • Identify, analyze and prepare mitigation tactics for people-related change risks
  • Provide progress monitoring and reporting, as required
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Job Requirements

  • Experience supporting enterprise wide technology implementations from a change perspective;
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) and ADP HRIS is an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal; ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate and persuasive manner
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Proven ability to determine and apply the appropriate type and level of change support required for different initiatives
  • Proven ability to build alignment, accountability and trust at various organizational levels High level of integrity and accountability
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • A PROSCI or CCMP certification is an asset

Required Experience:

Minimum of seven (7) years recent, related experience delivering change initiatives using change management methods in a large, complex, multi-stakeholder environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is based out of the Company’s Vancouver, B.C. office, but requires significant travel within the organization to fulfill the requirements of this position. Note that business travel is regional (Vancouver Island and Washington state, valid driver’s license required). Flexibility in working hours and overtime as required to ensure that critical deadlines are met.
