Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

As part of the Corporate Finance team, the Corporate Accountant will make meaningful contributions to simplify, streamline, and standardize our operational management reporting. The right candidate will have the opportunity to build their operational expertise, analyze margin improvement projects, and contribute to long-term company growth. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Corporate Accountant is also responsible for several key financial processes & policies and the consolidation of monthly and quarterly forecasts. These processes will help provide the foundation to enable the position to be a key contributor to business improvement. The position will be continuously learning and engaging with various levels of the operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consolidate operations’ monthly forecasts, quarterly forecasts, and annual plans.
  • Monthly reconciliation of consolidated inventory costing and related metrics.
  • Key resource in supporting the operations through month end.
  • Weekly and monthly operational management reporting.
  • Timely preparation of financial analysis, for senior management, the Board of Directors, and others as required.
  • Assist in the enhancement of Company policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Assist in the implementation of financial systems and any other programs as they impact operations.
  • Develop business knowledge and relationships through regular contact and occasional site visits with stakeholders to build a foundation to drive value
  • Special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.

 

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge:

  • Strong business process and budgeting knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial and/or business services capacity
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the Forest Industry or a similar industry

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Improvement oriented and focused on identifying business efficiencies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail focused and strong ability to multi task with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Possess CPA designation
